WP4 (Meso Level modelling) will develop a decision-analytic framework running at the river basin scale to simulate existing water availability, water distributions system and new agricultural technologies, based on hydrological models and combined with the results of systems analysis methods with advanced a-posteriori multi-objective optimization algorithms.
The meso level mathematical model will be coupled with outputs generated both at the macro and at the micro level of AWESOME and will allow the design of a set of efficient solutions and associated performance with respect to the WEFE multidimensional assessment space, where stakeholders and policy makers will be able to explore multi-sector tradeoffs and negotiate potential compromise alternatives.
